The reigning champion New York Liberty (16-6, 11-2 home) will host the Phoenix Mercury (15-8, 6-4 away) tonight at the Barclays Center. Two of the most elite teams in the WNBA, this is a highly anticipated matchup, especially since both teams' health is trending upward.
Fresh off a four-game winning streak, the Liberty won back-to-back matchups against the Indiana Fever, who continue to be without Caitlin Clark due to a groin injury. With a 16-6 record, the Liberty soared to being the heavy favorite to win the WNBA Championship after the signing of Emma Meesseman. With Leonie Fiebich and Jonquel Jones back, the band is back together.
As for the Mercury, they have dropped two straight games; however, the Lynx and Dream are the top teams this season. And of course, Brittney Griner and the Dream took away the victory in her return to the Valley. With Alyssa Thomas, Satou Sabally, Kahleah Copper, and DeWanna Bonner all healthy, today should mark a competitive matchup. Heavy 6.5-point spread favorites at home, New York is down 0-2 in the regular season series against Phoenix.
Next up, A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces (12-12, 5-8 away) will square off against Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx (21-4, 13-0 home). The Lynx are one year removed from the WNBA Finals, and are a perfect 13-0 at home. Large 10.5-point spread favorites, Minnesota will face a Vegas squad, who's coming off a back-to-back. Fresh off a 80-70 loss against a Cailtin Clark-less Fever last night, the task is quite tall for the Aces tonight. As for the Lynx, they are riding a three game winning streak.
Either way, this should be a great matchup, especially since Collier and Wilson headline the WNBA MVP conversations.
For the late night matchup, Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings (7-17, 3-10 away) will square off against the Golden State Valkyries (10-12, 7-4 home) in the Bay. Despite a 7-17 record, Dallas pulled off an improbable 87-63 victory in Seattle on Tuesday, and are tabbed as +145 moneyline underdogs today.
In their inaugural season, the Valkyries have impressed under Head Coach Natalie Nakase, although they are fresh off three straight losses. With Dallas up 1-0 on the regular season series, the books aren't with Dallas to pull off another upset.

You can find all my bets within FanDuel and DraftKings Sportsbook, where I've placed each play as separate bets.
Let's take a dive into my three best player prop bets and predictions for the Friday, July 25 WNBA matchups!
Are you looking to bet on WNBA player props all season long? Here at Ballislife Bets, we've gathered a complete list of the best sports betting offers here.
GP: 10 | PPG:12.7 | FG: 46.3 % | FT: 70.6 % | 3PT: 43.6 % | REB: 9.5 | AST: 2.3 | STL: 0.5 | BLK: 1.1
My first WNBA best bet for today, I placed one unit on New York Liberty forward Jonquel Jones to record over 7.5 rebounds against the Phoenix Mercury.
Having missed a total of nine games with an ankle injury, Jones is back in the lineup. The difference maker on the glass, 3-point shooting, and floor spacing, Jones presence is very much needed tonight.
At 6 foot 6, Jones carries a froncourt that also assembles Stewart and Fiebich. However, she is New York's leading rebounder, and I do believe a 7.5 rebound prop line is set too low.
Although Liberty Head Coach Sandy Brondello did not specify, I'm assuming Jones will remain under some sort of minutes restrictions. Now in her second game back, Jones produced 18 points and nine rebounds in just 23 minutes against the Fever on Tuesday. Yes, nine rebounds in 23 minutes!
I know Jones has only been featured in ten games, however, her presence makes the Liberty a top half team on the glass (34.6 RPG). With that said, Jones has soared over this line in seven of the 10 games this season. In the games where she's recorded more than 7.5, Jones averages 11.4 rebounds over that span.
I understand Jones is getting back in the swing of things, however, I can't pass up this matchup, even on potential restricted minutes. If you're betting on this game, let's not forget the fact Jones left early in the second quarter with injury in New York's previous matchup.
Even in nine, minutes, Jones recorded four rebounds alone. She was poised for well over 7.5 boards that game.
Sure the Mercury are back to near full strength, and added DeWanna Bonner for reinforcements. Today, I expect Jones to play the center position with both Fiebich and Stewart in the lineup. With Natasha Mack back for the Mercury, Phoenix has some heavy hitters in Satou Sabally, Alyssa Thomas and Mack.
Even so, Jones has an excellent matchup on the boards, especially since the Mercury give up the second most rebounds to centers.
Now in her third season with the Liberty, Jones is averaging the most rebounds since her time with the team, and matches a career-high of 16.6 total rebounds per 40 minutes (2017). With a 23.3 total rebound percentage, Jones faces a Mercury team that's been forgiving on the boards.
Pre and Post All-Star break, Dream frontcourt duo Brionna Jones and Brittney Griner combined for 14 rebounds against Phoenix. Against the Valkyries, Monique Billings grabbed nine rebounds off the bench in just 19 minutes.
GP: 14 | PPG: 9.7 | FG: 36 % | FT: 86.4 % | 3PT: 31.7 % | REB: 4.9 | AST: 1.1 | STL: 0.4 | BLK: 0.1
My second WNBA best bet for today, I placed one unit on Golden State Valkyries forward Janelle Salaün to record over 11.5 points against the Dallas Wings.
Undrafted in 2021, Salaün is member of the French National Team, and all I have to say is she can hoop! When Salaün is hot, she's hot, there's no denying that. Back from Eurobasket, Salaün has become a fixture in the Valkyries starting lineup. Not to mention, she's their fourth leading scorer (9.7 PPG).
Unfortunately, Golden State will be without their top All-Star Kayla Thornton, which should open up more scoring abilities for Salaün.
I know Salaün hasn't shot the rock well, just 36 percent from the field, and 31.7 percent from beyond the arc. However, she's been consistent over the last three games for Nakase, scoring 10+ points in that span (12.7 PPG). While the percentages haven't been there, we saw how effective she was, especially in late May.
Led by rookie All-Star Paige Bueckers, the Dallas Wings have well documented struggles this season on the defensive end With injuries and international commitments, they've had players come and go. Ranking tenth in defensive rating (106.2), the Wings give up the second most points to forwards per game.
Sure the Wings have adjusted their lineup with Li Yueru and Luisa Geiselsoder. However, with the departure of NaLyssa Smith and injury to Myisha Hines-Allen, the frontcourt continues to evolve.
We previously saw Storm All-Stars Gabby Williams and Nneka Ogwumike score 14 and 22 points last matchup. Set to face Dallas for the first time as a rookie, I love the matchup here.
I do believe this player prop line is set low to to limited minutes, she isn't seeing 30+ like she did in May. However, 9.7 points averaged in 22.8 minutes is solid. Plus, I'm expecting increased playing time with Thornton out of the lineup. With a 22 percent usage rate, that's top 36 in the WNBA.
GP: 19 | PPG: 14.8 | FG: 51.2 % | FT: 66.7 % | 3PT: 0 % | REB: 7.5 | AST: 9.5 | STL: 1.3 | BLK: 0.4
My third WNBA best bet for today, I placed one unit on Phoenix Mercury All-Star Alyssa Thomas to record over 16.5 rebounds and assists against the New York Liberty.
After spending the first 11 seasons of her career with the Connecticut Sun, Thomas is thriving in Phoenix. Now that fiancé DeWanna Bonner has signed with Phoenix, this team is seriously stacked! Sure, the Mercury headline Thomas, Bonner, Sabally, and Copper. However, it's the bench and role players who have been keeping this team afloat.
With an abundance of talent means plenty of dimes for Thomas. The WNBA's assist leader, Thomas is the "engine" for a reason. A double-double and triple-double machine, Thomas doesn't always have to score. That's why I didn't clock the points, rebounds, and assists.
As players return from injury, Thomas can continue to play her game the best she knows how—in all areas. Scoring under eight points in the last two games, it's clear she's a difference maker in other areas.
Nearly averaging a triple-double on the season with 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists, AT is considered one of the most elite point forwards to ever grace the game. Honestly, I truly love this player prop from an assist standpoint alone.
Over the last six games, Thomas is averaging 9.8 assists, including 15 against the Dallas Wings. Always a factor on the glass, she's averaged 7.8 rebounds over that span.
I think Thomas has a prime matchup against the Liberty, even though they have great length and versatility with Stewart, Jones, and Fiebich. In both matchups against the Liberty, we saw AT nearly put up a triple-double in each, averaging 12.0 rebounds and 11.0 assists in two matchups.
Given she averages 17 rebounds and assists on the season, Thomas is one of one. An extremely difficult player to hard, her IQ is truly unmatched. Not to mention, New York gives up the second most rebounds per game to forwards.
Let's not forget, Thomas erupted for 18 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists in just 27 minutes in their first matchup of the season against New York.
