Big Man Duel: Hassan Whiteside Triple Doubles Against Karl Anthony Towns

I'm one of those old school cats who cries a lot about missing things in the past and one of those things is watching big man battles which was a nightly occurrence in the 90s.

On Tuesday night, Hassan Whiteside and rookie phenom Karl-Anthony Towns filled that void by putting up huge stats against each other: Whiteside had a monster triple double with 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks while rookie phenom Karl-Anthony Towns continued to put up  big double doubles with 14 points and boards.

Just like big men like Shaq, Whiteside was awful at the line, making only 2 of 9 while Towns was a perfect 2 of 2.  Towns also got a lot more production from his teammates in the 4th quarter when the Wolves outscored the Heat 41-22 and came away with a 103-91 win.

"A tremendous effort on his part," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said about Whiteside.

WHITESIDE:  22pts, 14rebs, 10blks, 0stls (10-14fg, 2-9ft)
TOWNS: 14pts, 14rebs, 1blk, 2stls (6-12fg, 2-2ft)
