We all knew last night’s game between the Suns and Clippers was going to be entertaining but this was just ridiculous – an OT game won at the buzzer by a lucky bounce…a 3-pointer with a lucky bounce….a 3-pointer with a lucky bounce shot by Blake Griffin who has only made 4 3-pointers all season long before this game and 26 during his first 4 seasons in the league!
“I thought it was an air ball when he shot it,” said J.J Redick about teammate Blake Griffin’s lucky game-winning 3. “It was one time all season when I’ll go to the offensive glass.”
“When I shot it, I thought it was off, short, flat,” Griffin said, “but I got a lucky bounce.”
Blake’s lucky buzzer beater is also the first of his career and the first by a Clipper since 2009 when Baron Davis made one against the Celtics.
“I feel like I hit the shot,” DeAndre Jordan said. “I held my breath until it went all the way through the basket. After it hit the rim and went up, I knew it was going in. I felt the basketball gods were on our side.”
Yes they were.
