Braxton Blackwell (6'7 215lbs), forward from Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, TN is emerging as one of the nation's top players in the Class of 2016.
At the Chicago Classic, Braxton Blackwell led his Nashville Celtics 17U team (instead of his usual Atlanta Celtics squad) to the 17U title game (losing to Florida Elite).
Even playing up a class (or 2), Blackwell's unique skill set, size and agility allowed him to dominate at both ends (at times). He showed his versatility as he blocked shots at one end and knocked down shots at the other end while setting up his teammates on the break.
After the conclusion of the tournament's final game, Blackwell and his dad mentioned Jabari Parker was one of Blackwell's favorite players. While it's early in his career, perhaps it's fitting Blackwell had a breakout tournament at Joy of the Game (on the same court where young Jabari Parker honed his skills).
While his recruiting is still beginning, Braxton Blackwell's offers include Florida, Louisville, Indiana, Michigan State, Auburn, Cincinnati, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, NC State, Providence, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Thanks to the 2013 Chicago Classic, everyone at Joy of the Game (Deerfield, IL) and the Nashville Celtics 17U players and coaches.
