Earlier in the week, a video of the men’s USA team cursing out DeMarcus Cousins because he wouldn’t get off a bus went viral. Too bad they didn’t have women’s USA team player Brittney Griner on the bus because she probably would have made his “fat” a$$ move.
On Tuesday, the 3 x WNBA All-Star showed how fearful she is of the league’s best center when she told the USA Today she wants to play the NBA version of herself in a game of 1-on-1.
“Whenever you’re ready to get it on camera and see her get embarrassed, I’m ready for it,” Replied Cousins, who had a lot of praise for Griner.
“It’s almost like we’re the same person. As soon as I walk in the door, she’s at me. She says I’m a bum. She says she’ll kick my butt. It’s all in fun. She’s an incredible competitor. She’s an incredible player. It’s fun to be around the ladies and get to know them.”
And his thoughts on her game?
“She’s got some footwork, but I’m top dog. I told her she’s the third-best post player here behind me and DJ. She’s a little mad about that.”
She’s probably a little mad at that statement because she has a lot more offensive moves than Jordan (and most of the centers in the NBA today) but she couldn’t have sounded any happier when talking about Cousins.
“I love talking to him. He’s really funny.
“I’ve never really been around him before until now, but he’s like that big brother, just to talk smack to and who is always competitive. He’s awesome.”
And it’s been awesome to see Griner become the player that she is today. Here’s our first video of her, back in 2009, when she was just your normal girl in high school who could jump over people and throw down 360 dunks. .
As for Boogie’s comment about him and Griner being “the same person,” you got to admit this tweet is pretty funny.
