He was too close to the basket is my excuse. With three seconds left in the 2nd OT between the Blazers and Pistons, CJ McCollum missed what would have been a game-winning bucket.
“He’d been getting to that spot and usually when he gets to that spot, it’s cash,” Damian Lillard said about the final shot by McCollum.
“I get a pull-up with a big backing up on his heels and I miss it a little short, it’s frustrating, but it’s part of the game” said McCollum, who forced OT and double OT with a 3-pointer. “Nine out of 10 times I’d take that shot.”
McCollum also scored 21 of his game-high 35 points in the 4th quarter and OT sessions in a game that featured 14 lead changes.
BONUS: KOBE VS THE BLAZERS
Watching CJ forcing OT multiple times might remind some old school Blazers’ fans of the time Kobe Bryant forced OT and hit a game-winning three against them in 2004.
