After 3 straight games of 20+ points, Iowa Sate All-American Georges Niang fell below the 20 point mark during Monday's loss to West Virginia. He also got a tech for going below the belt when he grabbed Tarik Phillip's groin during the game!
Phillip laughed at the low blow and continued his hot streak by connecting on 6 of 8 from downtown and finishing with a season-high 22 points.
This might not be such a laughing matter for Niang. He's one of the 10 finalist for the CLASS (Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School) Award, which is given to a senior athlete “who excels on and off the court in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.”
I'm pretty sure fondling an opponent wont sway any voters.
Here's the other finalists: Ryan Arcidiacono, Villanova; Malcolm Brogdon, Virginia; Perry Ellis, Kansas; Buddy Hield, Oklahoma; Marcus Paige, North Carolina; Justin Sears, Yale; Denzel Valentine, Michigan State; Fred VanVleet, Wichita State; Kyle Wiltjer, Gonzaga
