D’Angelo Russell is looking like a future stat stuffer for fantasy roto players. He followed up his 8/5/6/3 debut with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 33 minutes vs the 76ers on Saturday night. He was also able to cut down his turnovers from 7 to 5.
“Turnovers, that’s what I look at the most,” Russell said after the win. “I’m a risk-taker, but at this level those really add up. In college, you can kind of get away with it.”
His shot was still a little shaky – missing 9 of 15 and all 3 of his 3 pointers – but that will come around.
As for the 76ers Jahlil Okafor who some thought the Lakers should have selected. He had 19 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
