D'Angelo Russell Bounces Back From Awful Performance With 31 Points & 11 Assists

After D'Angelo Russell went 0-9 from 3 and missed a potential game-winner in his last game, he said he got a "reality check" and was "ready to go." He wasn't kidding. Mr Ice in his veins rebounded with a game-high 31 points on 10 of 14 from the floor, 5 of 6 from 3 and 6-7 from the line in the Lakers loss to the Kings on Thursday.

“Shots weren’t falling for me last game,” Said Russell, who was a perfect 4 of 4 from 3 in the first half. “It happens. We just came together as a group. Got more open looks and we were knocking them down today.”

Russell also did a great job of passing the ball, dishing out a game-high 11 assists.

“Just tried to do a little bit of everything,” Russell said. “At this level guys are capable of doing whatever they want to. If they want to get 15 or 10 assists, get 10 rebounds, anything is possible. I really tried to set my standards high today.”

As hot as Russell was, the Kings' Anthony Tolliver was even hotter. The power forward came off the bench and knocked down 7 of 7 from downtown (he's now 10 for his last 10) to help his team get the 116-104 W.
