Being from Houston, I've known about Danuel House Jr and have been watching him put defenders on posters since he was in high school. I'm pretty sure the Warriors announcers weren't as familiar with the undrafted standout from Texas A&M.
During the second quarter against the Warriors, House went one-on-one with Nick Young and pulled off a Kobe-like off-the-backboard dunk that had Draymond Green looking shocked and the Warriors announcers making excuses.
"See, these players from Phoenix -- no names, undrafted, unfamiliar -- the Warriors aren't familiar with their style and they have been caught off guard. Simple as that."
"You don't want someone clowning you in your own building. This is an undrafted player who just threw one off the backboard and dunked."
The NBATV twitter account seemed just as surprised; They posted a clip of the dunk with a caption that simply said, "No he didn't."
As expected by everyone, the Warriors made a comeback and won the the game. Not expected by most, House finished with a career-high 16 points (6-11 FG) to go with 6 boards, 3 assists and 2 blocks in 34 minutes of action. After this performance and his 5 points and 8 boards in his previous game, seeing House on the floor and generating highlights might become more common. And then maybe people not named Cody Zeller won't seem so surprised when he does something impressive.
