TMZ recently caught up with Shaqtin’ a Fool favorite Dion Waiters and asked him what he thought about Kobe Bryant’s rating of 85 – his lowest ever – in NBA2k16.
“85!?” replies a shocked Waiters. “You gotta ask the Mamba about that.”
Waiters was then asked what he thought his rating should be and if it should be higher than Kobe.
“Hell no! That’s the Bean, man!”
2K agreed with Waiters and gave him a 71 which might be even lower than what Waiters would expect.
WAITERS & BRYANT
Back in January, the Lakers reportedly tried to trade for Waiters (can you imagine a Lakers team with Kobe, Nick Young and Dion Waiters) but the Cavs wanted a little more than Robert Sacre and ended up shipping Waiters to OKC in a 3-way deal that landed Shumpert and Jr Smith in Cleveland instead.
Back in April, Waiters – who shares the same agent as Kobe (Rob Pelinka) – said he was going to be training this summer with Bryant. Last I heard it never happened but Waiters has lost 10 pounds during the off season.
“It’s going good,” Waiters said to Newsok. “I’m just trying to eat better, work out, lift and really focus on my core. Just really work on my body. Just try and transform. Be cut up… I’ve got a little bit to go. But continuing what I’ve been doing working out, trying to eat right and (the weight’s) going to come off.”
Hopefully all that off season work will help him on the court this season so he can get that 2k rating up.
