Down By 30, Andre Drummond Shushed 76ers Crowd After Making Two Free Throws

I love it when a player silences a noisy crowd by hitting a big shot. And on Friday, after shooting 100% from the free-throw line, Andre Drummond put his fingers on his lips and told the crowd to shush.

Here’s why the crowd cracked up or went silent in confusion: the Pistons were down by 30(!!) and Drummond only went 2-of-2 from the charity stripe for the night. If that wasn’t embarrassing enough, he finished with just 10 points (4-9 FG) and 8 rebounds against “rival” Joel Embiid, who had 23 points (9-16 FG, 1-2 3PT, 4-5 FT) and 9 boards in just 25 minutes of the 114-78 76ers’ victory.

Embiid is now 3-0 against Drummond this season, while scoring twice as many points (26 to 12.7). As for the “beef” stuff, there’s no real “beef.”

“I love having fun on social media,” Embiid said back in December about him and Dre talking trash about each other. “He does too. So we’re just young kids having fun out there.”

And here’s what Dre had to say about Embiid back then.

“It’s never hard feelings,” Drummond said. “When was the last time you seen two real big men go at it? It was just a great matchup, I look forward to playing him again. Obviously a hell of a player. I have nothing negative to say about him.”
