Kevin Durant and Draymond Green lead the league in techs and ejections this season. And on Tuesday, Draymond took the tech lead from his teammate with two more techs (13 total) and another ejection (3) during the Warriors 20-point loss to the Thunder.
The ejection came with 8:13 remaining in the fourth after Green responded to an offensive foul call by tossing the ball towards the ref. It was an early end of a rough night for Green, who picked up his first tech in the first half for complaining about a bloody lip he received after getting knocked to the ground without getting a whistle.
As mentioned, Draymond now has a league-leading 13 techs this season to go with his 3 ejections. Here’s how that ranks with his previous seasons.
- 2017/18: 13 techs, 3 ejections
- 2016/17: 14 techs, 1 ejection
- 2015/16: 12 techs, 0 ejections
- 2014/15: 10 techs, 0 ejections
As for Kevin Durant, his bad boy stats are shocking compared to his previous seasons.
- 2017/18: 11 techs, 4 ejections
- 2016/17: 8 techs, 0 ejections
- 2015/16: 8 techs, 0 ejections
- 2014/15: 4 techs, 0 ejections
The most shocking stat about Durant is he was only ejected once during his first 10 seasons in the league.
MORE BAD CALLS
“We were way worse than the officials were,” Said Warriors Coach Steve Kerr after the game. “We got completely outplayed.”
That’s saying a lot because the officiating was pretty awful. Here’s Green getting away with knocking Westbrook (who is tied with Durant for 2nd most techs this season) to the ground and KD getting called for a foul as Westbrook tripped himself to the ground.
