Time flies and 6 years after putting on a Superman cape and winning one of the last exciting NBA dunk contests, Superman 2.0 showed on his Instagram account that he can still fly a little. Even though he still has “some stuff” that he hasn’t shown, don’t expect him to ever enter the contest again.
“People forget that every dunk has been done, basically,” Howard said before the 2014 NBA Dunk Contest. “There’s not a lot of stuff that you can really do. Even though I’ve got some stuff that I haven’t shown, I’m old now. I don’t know if I can do it. Every dunk has been done. When you get in the dunk contest and somebody might try something, everybody’s like, ‘I saw that four years ago.’ So guys are nervous about getting back in the dunk contest. You’ve got to be very creative.”
I agree there’s going to be those spoiled people that watch all the videos we put out with dunkers like Kenny Dobbs and Guy Dupuy but the majority of NBA fans just want to see “stars” compete with mediocre dunks not “mediocre” players compete with great dunks.
