“We got our ass kicked. Point blank, period. We didn’t come out with enough energy to start the game off, two games in a row. Defending champs, they swept us off the floor.” – Jaylen Brown after Game 2.
Ass kicking might be an understatement but shout out to Celtics’ rookie Jaylen Brown for being the only Celtic to put up a fight during the Friday’s ass kicking/Boston massacre and for being the best Celtic after two “games.” In Game 1, he scored 10 points on 5 of 7 shooting with 9 boards in just 20 minutes off the bench. After the game, some Boston fans were crying for him to get more PT. Then he had the everybody hoping he would get some extra PT after the following statements:
“I mean, LeBron’s a good player but I look at him as just a regular guy to me,” Brown said, according to CSN Northeast. “I’ve gotta come out and compete just like he’s gotta come out and compete. I’ve gotta tie my shoes just like he ties his shoes. There’s bigger threats in my neighborhood than LeBron James, so I have no fear whatsoever of LeBron.”
In Game 2, he came out, competed and had a team-high 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting with 4 boards and 2 steals in just 24 minutes off the bench. Unfortunately for Brown, the only image most people are going to remember from the game is this one from the bench, which (thanks to ESPN’s Amin Elhassan) turned into a roasted session that had a bunch of non Boston fans crying.
