NiceKicks caught up with Hakeem in his awesome looking man cave, that features a piece of the Summit floor from the 95 NBA Finals (the year he won his 2nd championship and DID NOT dominate Shaq) on his wall, to talk about his choices in endorsing brands like Etonic, La Gear, Spalding and upcoming DR34M line as well as his choices in training many of the best NBA players of the past decade including Kobe, LeBron, Gay, Dwight and Melo. When asked about what players would benefit the most from his experience he named Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant. The thought of Blake having any offensive moves is scary and thought of Durant adding anything to his offensive repertoire is scarier. Hopefully Blake welcomes the invite and calls up the Dream.
Back to the Kicks, the first launch tour dates for the $185 DR34M sneakers will be at the following Houston locations (that I will be attending) in September.
- 9/21/13 – The West Mansion
- 9/28/13 – Hyatt Market Street
- 10/5/13 – Uptown Park
In the meantime, check out these retro sneaker commercials and pics with the Dream.
