LeBron flirted with a triple double and threw down a windmill dunk. Andrew Wiggins scored a career-high 35 points. Rookie of the year candidate Karl-Anthony Towns was unstoppable and made 11 of 14 shots. All great stories but the best to come out of the Cavs 26 point beatdown on the Pups was J.R. Smith going off for a season-high 27 points in just 19 minutes! The red-hot Smith, coming off a 10 for 16 performance, connected on 10 of 12 shots and made 5 more from downtown.
Smith now has 18 3-pointers over his past 3 impressive games. As impressive as that sounds, Smith once made a record-setting 24 3-pointers over a 3 game stretch.
Since we are bragging about Smith’s 3-point records, he also has the Knicks franchise record for made 3s (10) and attempts (22), the Cavs record for 3s in a playoff game (8) and the Nuggets franchise record for made 3s (11) in a game.
