Jalen Brunson had a busy summer. Arguably the top point guard in the Class of 2015 showed his killer crossover, high level court vision and leadership on courts from coast to coast.
Prior leading his Mac Irvin Fire 17U team to its first Las Vegas Classic title to close out July's live period, 6'1 Jalen Brunson already won a gold medal with the U.S. in the FIBA Americas Under-18 tournament and played in the LeBron James Skills Academy and the Nike Peach Jam. In August, he was named a member of the Nike Global Challenge all Tournament team for his performance vs world-class competition.
Jalen Brunson averaged 17.2 points, 6.9 assists, 2.7 steals in Nike's prestigious EYBL. And Brunson led the entire EYBL in assists and assists per game, and was 3rd overall in Steals and Steals per game.
Brunson is the son of former Temple standout and NBA veteran Rick Brunson.
He was named the 2013-14 Gatorade Illinois Boys Basketball Player of the Year after posting averages of 25.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.9 steals as a junior at Stevenson HS in Lincolnshire, IL. Brunson is looking to lead his Stevenson team to an Illinois state title.
Brunson has committed to Villanova.
