Jason Crowe Jr., a 6-foot-2 freshman (2026) from Lynwood (Calif.) dropped 47 points Friday evening in a 102-49 CIF Southern Section playoff victory over La Quinta (Calif.). The lefty point guard now has 1,032 points in 28 games and is just four points shy of the all-time single-season state record for points by a freshman. The mark of 1,036 points is held by another shifty left-handed point guard: Marcus Lovett Jr. of Providence (Burbank, Calif.). The Mixtape legend had a terrific freshman season in 2011-12.

Crowe didn't even play in the fourth quarter of the La Quinta game and has at least one playoff game to go on Tuesday. Crowe and Lovett are the only two freshmen to hit the 1,000-point mark, according to the Cal-Hi Sports State Record Book.
