Jay Huff is a 6'10" senior that attends Voyager Academy in Durham, NC. Huff is your typical stretch-power forward that can paly down low and shoot the ball from the deep. Though his impact may not be felt right away for Tony Bennett's Cavalier squad, Huff has the potential and game to possibly become a "Frank Kaminsky" type player for UVA. Also like Kaminsky, it'll take a 4 year body of work for Huff to reach his full potential as a solid college player and potential NBA caliber player. What intrigues scouts and fans alike is the fact that Huff hasnt seen much competition in terms of players his size and skill. Huff rarely competed on the AAU circuits his senior year, instead focusing on adding muscle to his frame. He averaged 16 PPG, 10 RPG, and 5.5 BPG. leading Voyager to the NCHSAA 1A State Champioship over Winston Salem Prep. Hopefully through hardwork and patience, Jay Huff may be the player from North Carolina to surprise us all one day as did Frank Kaminsky did Wisconsin.
