The NBA initially didn't want Cleveland Cavs guard/model & celebrity dater Jordan Clarkson to participate in the 2018 Asia Games because it wasn't part of the NBA/FIBA agreement that allows NBA players to participate in international basketball games. They eventually made an exception and on Tuesday morning he made his debut for the Philippines. He also put up a nice line of 28 points (16 in the 3rd quarter), 8 boards, 5 threes, 4 assists and 2 steals but it wasn't enough to pull off a victory.
China beat Gilas Pilipinas 82-80 behind 25 points, 12 boards and 7 blocks from the Houston Rockets' 7-2 big man Zhou Qi. The win continues China's 44-year Asian Games win streak against the Philippines team.
