With the exception of his half-court shot to put GM1 vs the Heat into OT, Kyle Lowry has been ice cold in the playoffs: his 30.6% shooting with a minimum of 100 shots is the worst fg% in the past 50 years!
He remained ice cold going into game 2 by missing a security guard looking for some dap; The guard hilariously looked at Lowry with a how-did-you-miss-that shrug. A shrug Raptors’ fans have been doing for the past couple of weeks, waiting for their All-Star point guard to break out of his shooting slump.
The game tips off and after 1 quarter, Lowry is a warm 3 of 5 from the field. Could the slump be over?
Over the following 2 quarters, Lowry missed 8 of his next 10 shots. But, with 15 seconds left in regulation, Lowry hit a clutch jumper to put the Raptors up by 3.
The slump has to be over now. Right?
With the game tied at 86 a piece with 5 seconds left in regulation, Lowry had a chance to be the hero and ended up taking a deep 3 for the win….and airballed it.
In OT, Lowry missed his only field goal attempt but did ice the game with 2 free throws in the final 10 seconds.
The final result was a 96-92 victory for the Raptors and 18 points for Lowry on 7 of 22 shooting (1 of 7 from 3).
