It looks like 2015 6th Man of the Year, Lou Williams, might end up winning another one of these awards with another team. Rumor is the Lakers are actively shopping their instant offense guard, who dished out 4 assists and scored 19 of his team-high 29 points in the 4th quarter of a loss to the Kings on Tuesday night. That’s five more points than the total output of starters D’Angelo Russell, Nick Young and Brandon Ingram for the game and 19 more than their output for the 4th quarter.
“Lou Williams is a hired-gun professional scorer, heck of a player and had a terrific game and really gave us fits,” Kings coach Dave Joerger said.
The hired-gun is averaging a career-high 18.5 points while playing just 24.2 points a game this season. He’s scored over 30 four times this season; three of those four instances came during a red-hot streak (40, 38, 24, 35) back in December.
