Lonzo and LaMelo Ball Record Triple-Doubles On The Same Night

After missing a triple-double by just two boards against the 76ers, Lonzo Ball, wearing James Harden’s signature shoe from Adidas, racked up 16 points (6-20 FG, 2-10 3PT), 12 assists, 10 boards and 5 steals in a 94-83 win against the Cleveland Cavs on Thursday. The triple-double gave him his second in three games and the second in Las Vegas Summer League over the past 10 years. You read that correctly, there has only been two triple-doubles in Vegas over the past decade and Ball has both of them. I know, I know, “it’s just Summer League.” If that’s the case then you won’t mind me saying Ball is also the first player in Vegas history to put up 30 points and 10 assists in a game.

The impressive performance sends the Lakers to the Summer League quarterfinals and garnered some rave reviews from coaches and teammates, including Vander Blue who scored 18 and called Ball the “best passer” he’s ever played with.

Meanwhile at the Double Pump Pump N Run tournament, his little brother and former high school teammate, LaMelo Ball, racked up 36 points (9-18 FG, 6-9 3PT), 14 assists and 10 boards for the Big Ballers AAU team in a 101-94 victory over SCA, a team James Harden once played for.

If you were wondering why you didn’t see any LaVar talking about Lonzo videos after the Lakers victory it’s because he was coaching his BBB team to victory in this game. Also worth mentioning is his wife, Tina, was in attendance. This was her first game since suffering a stroke back in February.
