No area high school player has a bigger buzz surrounding him than Chicago Morgan Park senior Marcus LoVett Jr. Transferring into the Public League powerhouse (back to back Class 3A Illinois State Champs), the 5'11 point guard LoVett instantly became the state's most coveted unsigned senior. Through a week of open gyms LoVett picked up offers from DePaul, Kansas, Illinois, St. John's and Tennessee. He also picked up a new nickname: BRIGHT LIGHTS.
Check out these highlights from 1-day preseason Mac Irvin Shootout where LoVett and his Morgan Park team faced 2 top-20 Public League teams and one team from out of state. As expected, with their 3-guard offense led by Marcus LoVett Jr., Morgan Park dispatched all of their opponents.
Thanks to everyone at Morgan Park HS, Whitney Young HS and the Mac Irvin Fire and Irvin family.
