Usually, when a 6’11 center dunks on a point guard it’s not that big of a deal but when the point is an explosive 6’4 guard with a 39 inch vert like John Wall, then it can be.  What impressed me more than Greg Monroe’s dunk on John Wall was how fast Greg Monroe was dribbling full court after a steal.

Later in the game, Wall’s teammate Marcin Gortat had a little more success challenging a dunk when high flying Josh Smith attempted to throw one down late in the 4th.

Wall might have came up empty in the blocks department but he did manage 29 points 7 assists 4 rebounds and 2 steals in a 7 point victory. Although he was unsuccessful blocking Monroe, he has had his moments blocking taller guys.
