The 2026 MBCA has come and gone, with over 100 college coaches from various levels making the trek to White Bear Lake throughout the weekend to get a glimpse at the top players from the Land of 10,000 Lakes, as well as North Dakota and South Dakota. MBCA Chairman Tom Critchley and his staff did a great job of keeping the event running smoothly for an event that came to its culmination midday Saturday, enabling college coaches to hit another destination to evaluate prospects if they desired to do so.
6-foot-9 Ahmed Nur stole the show on day one of the camp, showing that he just may be a five-star prospect nationally for the class of 2027. Vincent Cronin, Khaliq Austin, Gus McKenna, Kobby Sambrew, and Matthew Johnson also left lasting impressions in the eyes of scouts and college coaches alike on opening night.
For day two, it was more of a guard-oriented affair, and the perimeter-oriented prospects definitely put up some serious numbers. Here's a closer look at six players who stood out on the final day of the MBCA Showcase:
Tre Moore, 6'1", PG, Hopkins HS (Minn.), 2028
As far as straight end-to-end speed was concerned, there wasn't a player faster at White Bear Lake than Tre Moore. The strong playmaker was a great on-ball defender, had a number of high-level finishes at the rim, and showed more confidence shooting the rock from the 3-point line.
The younger brother of Minnesota's top Class of 2026 lead guard, Jayden Moore, Tre will face the same decision as his big bro between basketball and football at the collegiate level.
Keishaun Rolle, 5'9", PG, Totino-Grace (Minn.), 2027
Playing for an absolutely loaded Totino-Grace squad, Keishaun Rolle accepted a role, and he thrived at it for the state champions. At the MBCA Showcase, we were able to see the full bag that Rolle has in his arsenal.
He converted a number of unique finishes at the rim, knocked down shots from the perimeter, and was one of the better facilitators at the event. Rolle is the definition of heart over height and will make a college coach happy wherever he lands.
Jumair Wright, 6'2", PG, Minneapolis South (Minn.), 2028
Constantly in attack mode, there wasn't a moment at the MBCA Showcase that Jumair Wright wasn't putting pressure on opposing defenders. He was nearly impossible to stop getting downhill, made some outstanding pocket passes out of ball screens, and showed how gifted he was as a natural scorer.
Wright enters his junior year as the best player in Minneapolis' City League.
Luke Schroeder, 6'3", SG, Shakopee HS (Minn), 2027
Luke Schroeder had an outstanding spring running with Hoop Habits on the AAU circuit and kept that level of production up at MBCA. He made six 3-pointers in his final game, which was lined with D-I coaches, showed extreme confidence as a shooter, and made his presence felt wherever he was on the hardwood.
Holding a half dozen high-level D-2 offers, Luke is right there on that border, but has the talent to be a guy who levels up in the college ranks.
Alex Loos, 6'4", SG, Goodhue HS (Minn.), 2028
Taking his team to the state tournament as a sophomore, Alex Loos' toughness and shooting ability allowed him to make an impact at MBCA. The strong guard was a confident shooter from the 3-point line, brought physicality to both ends of the floor, and increased the intensity offensively and defensively.
Doubling as a college football prospect, Loos will have suitors at the next level in whatever direction he chooses to go.
Oakley Trueblood, 6'9", PF, Minot HS (North Dak.), 2027
The best big in North Dakota's rising senior class, Oakley Trueblood, made an impact at MBCA with his ability to play inside and out. He was perfectly comfortable playing facing the rack, ran the floor well, and provided a shot-blocking presence in the paint.
Basketball has certainly been developing in the Dakotas as of late, and Trueblood has all of the tools to be a guy you hear from down the road.
