The 2026 Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Showcase is now officially behind us. MBCA Chairman Tom Critchley and his staff did an outstanding job of putting together the top players from the Land of 10,000 Lakes, North Dakota, and South Dakota under one roof for a weekend of high-level basketball. Over 100 college coaches made their way through the doors of White Bear Lake High School, scholarships were earned, and new names emerged on the radar.
Having already profiled Vincent Cronin, Kobby Sambrew, and Matthew Johnson on opening night as well as Keishaun Rolle, Luke Schroeder, and Oakley Trueblood from the second day, here are a number of the remaining top seniors whom we saw at the 2026 MBCA Showcase:
Ahmed Nur, 6'9", SF, CIA Bella Vista (Ariz.), 2027
We'd be remiss to not mention Ahmed Nur for a second time after his final event in Minnesota. Shortly after the event, the emerging swingman decided to transfer to defending EYBL Scholastic champs CIA Bella Vista in Arizona, but left his final impression on the Land of 10,000 Lakes at MBCA.
Nur created separation to get to his pull-up jumper off the bounce, had arguably the best touch of anyone in the event, and left no debate as to who Minnesota's top senior was before heading west to Phoenix.

Tyler Forrest, 6'1", Chaska HS (Minn.), 2027
Having led Chaska to a state title, Tyler Forrest has that winning pedigree, and it showed at MBCA. Additionally, the lead guard has been playing varsity since his middle school days, and it was evident with his court awareness. Forrest was able to get past defenders with his shifty change of pace, is improving as a finisher through contact, and showed that he's an above-the-rim finisher.
Running with D1 Minnesota on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, Tyler is one of the more intriguing '27 lead guards who is still under the radar.
AJ Taban, 6'6", SF/PF, Totino Grace HS (Minn.), 2027
One of the bigger matchup problems of the event, AJ Taban, got it done inside and out at MBCA. He utilized his size by posting smaller defenders, showed his quickness facing the basket, and excelled at finishing through contact at the rim.
A model of production since entering high school, Taban consistently delivers when he steps on the floor, and he did it again at White Bear Lake.
Asher Wieberdink, 6'9", PF, Central Minnesota Christian HS (Minn.), 2027
A player that I wasn't familiar with leading into the event, I walked away loving the game of Asher Wieberdink. He played exceptionally hard on both ends of the floor and showed that he could make plays above the rim. Wieberdink is just scratching the surface of his potential down the road.
Already holding D-2 offers, Asher has the tools to make the jump even higher down the road.
Briggs Sheridan, 6'9", PF, Farmington HS (Minn.), 2027
If shooting is at a premium, Briggs Sheridan is your guy. One of Minnesota's best stretch bigs, Sheridan is a big-time pick and pop threat, relocates without the ball to create passing angles, and can exploit mismatches out of the post. Given Sheridan's size and ability to stretch the defense, he is a player you will undoubtedly see on a D-I roster next season.
Ray Brau, 6'8", PF/C, Hibbing HS (Minn.), 2027
A walking double-double, Ray Brau brought it every game that he laced them up at MBCA. He used his strength to finish through contact, controlled his area on the glass, and was more comfortable facing the basket. Holding a number of D-2 offers, Brau is one of the more reliable big men in Minnesota's 2027 class.
