With a relatively dead weekend in between the two high school scholastic live periods, I decided to make the journey from Minneapolis to Dallas for the loaded GASO Pre-Live Showcase. Offering teams from every single shoe circuit, the event was an easy scouting event all under one roof at the Ryse StarCenter in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Houston Hoops (EYBL), Team Nation (New Balance P32), 3D Empire (Puma Pro 16), Rashard Lewis Academy (New Balance P32), Pro Skills (EYBL), AB Elite (EYBL), Southern Assault (Adidas 3SSB), and Houston Hoops (EYBL) all brought squad from various age groups to not only compete against each other, but against some of the top independent teams that DFW has to offer.
Having already covered the notables from day two and then the standouts from the final day of the GASO Pre-Live Showcase, we started diving deeper into some of the individual players who helped themselves right before the live period. While the 16U group didn't have the star power of the loaded 2027 group, here are seven juniors who made their mark at GASO:
Kingston Gould, 6'3, PG, Southern Assault 17U
Playing up at the 17U level, you forgot that you were watching a player who just wrapped up their sophomore year when watching Kingston Gould. The mature lead guard played the game at his own pace, is great playing with different speeds, and shoots it well enough to keep you honest. Holding high major offers from the likes of Cal and Penn State, Gould is one of the better guards for 2028 in the Lone Star State.
Camden Hardy, 6'9, PF, Texas Impact 4:13 17U
With five star 2028 Xavier Young out, Camden Hardy stepped up to man the middle for Texas Impact 4:13 at the 17U level at GASO. He made a ton of tough catches in the paint, was comfortable scoring with his back to the basket, and made plays above the rim on both ends of the floor. The agile big man is still a bit under that radar, but that certainly won't last for long in the Under Armour Association.

Haynes Brookhart, 6'5, SG, Texas Impact 4:13 16U
A player who I first saw at the 2025 Pangos All South Frosh/Soph Camp, Haynes Brookhart has made some serious growth in his game over the past nine months. The big shooter was able to get his shot off in a hurry, constantly relocated to open areas, and utilized his size to shoot mid-range jumpers over smaller defenders. Already holding mid-major offers, Brookhart definitely has the mechanics and size to take himself to the next level as a shooter.
Brian Hopgood Jr., 6'8, PF, Pro Skills 16U
Another player who I first saw at Pangos All South Frosh/Soph, Brian Hopgood Jr. had a motor that simply didn't stop throughout GASO. The long armed big was outstanding running the floor, showcased elite footwork on the block, and controlled his area on the glass. One of the better juniors in Oklahoma, Hopgood's level of productivity will make him a target for D-1 coaches.
Max Moody, 6'2, PG, Texas Impact 4:13 16U
A player who I had seen a number of times with Oak Cliff Faith Family in EYBL Scholastic Play as a sophomore, Max Moody is at South Oak Cliff HS (home of Kansas legend and first round pick Darrell "Slim Shady" Arthur). The lights out shooter showed more than I had previously seen out of him as a lead guard, had really nice court vision, and showed the ability to play multiple roles on the floor. Already holding high major offers, Moody is going to be one of the better players that South Dallas has to offer this upcoming season.
Bennett Mosley, 6'1, PG, Texas Impact 4:13 16U
It was my first time seeing Bennett Mosley at GASO, and I loved what the two sport (football) athlete brought to the table. The two way lead guard played great on ball defense, had a motor that didn't stop on both ends of the floor, and proved that he could be a facilitator splitting point guard duties with Max Moody. Playing alongside 6'9 Tyson Chandler II at Allen HS (Tex.), I will definitely be taking another look at Mosley this weekend at the TABC Showcase.
Christian Williams, 6'1, PG, Pro Skills 16U
Another player that I hadn't seen before, I loved the game of Christian Williams for Pro Skills at GASO. Sharing lead guard duties with Jordan Hopkins, I was able to see Williams play both on and off the ball. The lefty had super deep range as a shooter, played the game with great poise, and got to his spots with limited dribbles. Still flying under the radar a bit, Williams will have plenty of opportunities to help himself at the TABC Showcase.
