The Nike EYBL regular season is finally over and the Peach Jam is set. With four stops across the country, the premier circuit’s final leg took place in Las Vegas and the masses came. There were over 500 college coaches, scouts from all 30 NBA teams, and countless NIL agents hovering around the Las Vegas Convention Center watching the next generation of hoopers and it was impossible to walk away disappointed.
With many teams fighting for their lives to make the Peach Jam, competition was at a higher level than you’d typically see for an early July game. The impact that NBA Summer League had on Sin City certainly had a trickle-down effect on the EYBL, as countless franchise players were seen walking around the gym or coaching their respective AAU programs.
We already examined the likes of CJ Rosser, Cayden Daughtry, King Gibson, and many others throughout the week; here's a more comprehensive look at some of the top 50 prospects who lived up to the hype at the final EYBL regular season session:
Beckham Black, 6'3", PG, AB Elite 17U
There wasn't a player in the EYBL who drew a bigger crowd than Beckham Black, having fans and players alike lined up five deep surrounding whatever court he was on. A player who just keeps getting better each time I see him, the lead guard controls the game with his ability to utilize tempo at his own discretion. The Dallas product makes high-level passes with both hands, is an above-the-rim finisher, and is constantly improving as a 3-point shooter.
Recently elevated to No. 1 in ESPN's 2027 rankings, Black will have a target on his back every time he laces them up from now on, but appears ready to take on the challenge based on his play in Vegas.
DeMarcus Henry, 6'7", SG/SF, Vegas Elite 17U
The immense talent that DeMarcus Henry possesses has been evident for quite some time now and it seems as if he’s truly realizing how special of a prospect he can become. The lefty swingman showed off effortless 3-point range, was efficient scoring with limited dribbles, and used his big-time athleticism to create a complete scoring arsenal for the high school ranks.
The son of late Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry will definitely be carrying on the family legacy at the next level and is right there as the best swingman in the class of 2027.
O'Neal Delancy, 6'4", SG, Florida Rebels 17U
There wasn't a player who stepped up more in big-time matchups on both ends of the court than O'Neal Delancy. The fiery guard was always willing to lock up the opposing team's best player, brought infectious toughness, and was a game-changer on the defensive end. Not just a defender, O'Neal showed off his three-level scoring ability as a fearless shot-maker who produces.
The winning intangibles and mentality that he offers have made him a priority recruit for a number of Power Four conferences, which should elevate him in the 2027 national rankings.
Ahmad Hudson, 6'7", PF, JL3 Elite 17U
The nation's best tight end made sure to remind everyone that he's a serious hooper as well at EYBL Vegas. The insanely powerful forward was an automatic two points anywhere near the rim, was fearless as a rebounder, and likely had more dunks than anyone throughout the weekend.
While football is his main priority for the time being, Ahmad Hudson also plans to play basketball at LSU and should be a perfect fit in the SEC.
NaVorro Bowman Jr., 6'3", PG, Team Why Not 17U
Perhaps the most dynamic two-way point guard in the nation, NaVorro Bowman Jr. was the model of consistency for Team Why Not. The athletic playmaker got buckets within the flow of the offense, defended all three perimeter spots, and was an electric finisher at the rim. Fresh off a gold medal with the USA U17 team, Bowman Jr. is riding high leading into Peach Jam.
Dooney Johnson, 6'6", SF, Team Herro 17U
Another player who seemingly gets better each time that I see him, the potential that Dooney Johnson has as a two-way wing is out of this world. The long-armed Milwaukee product is an outstanding facilitator, makes high-level passes with both hands, and is an elite finisher high at the rim.
The prized recruit in Gonzaga's early 2027 class, Dooney is a major target for countless programs and could be approaching McDonald’s All-American status with play at this level.
