NBA Cup play and international action headlines Amazon Prime Video's 2026-27 basketball slate, which will culminate in a conference finals series.
Amazon will deliver high-profile hardwood action in its second season of NBA streaming.
The Prime Video streaming service unveiled its 2026-27 NBA slate last week upon the release of the full Association schedule. Things tip off on Oct. 23 with an elite doubleheader between the defending champion New York Knicks and their divisional rivals from Boston before a Texas two-step between Houston and San Antonio is staged in the state capital of Austin.
"Building on the momentum of our inaugural season, we look forward to continuing to deliver our innovative coverage to the global community of Prime members," Jay Marine, global head of sports at Prime Video said in a statement. "[We're] connecting fans with the game they love no matter where they are and bringing them closer to the action than ever before."
Prime Enters Final Four
Amazon's slate will culminate in a conference finals series for the first time, as Prime Video will be the exclusive home of the Eastern edition. Appropriately, the reigning victors from Manhattan appear on the streaming waves on ten occasions this season, tied for the most with Philadelphia, San Antonio, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Before the playoffs, Prime will also carry the path to in-season glory by showcasing every part of the NBA Cup knockout round. Prime also has a series of high-profile group play games before the semifinal/championship action moves to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis after the first three finales were staged in Las Vegas.
The finale of Cup group play will be one of two collaborations with Amazon's "Thursday Night Football" NFL showcases, both of which carry a holiday theme. Black Friday on Nov. 27 will have the Knicks host the Miami Heat shortly after the Denver Broncos do battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers and before the Lakers meet the San Antonio Spurs. Just over a month later, the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves engage in a late matinee on New Year's Eve before Baltimore and Cincinnati settle things on gridiron in TNF's season final thereafter.
The Schedule
Friday doubleheaders will make up the bulk of Amazon's coverage with regular Thursday action being added after TNF's departure in January. Weekend games will also populate the schedule once the calendar flips to 2027, some of which will appear in matinee form.
Other event games on Prime include January's NBA Global Games, namely a doubleheader between New Orleans and San Antonio in England and Victor Wembanyama's homeland of France. Prime also retains all four stages of the NBA Play-In Tournament as well as assorted postseason games once the bracket is settled.
