With the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game rapidly approaching, the debate over who deserves a roster spot is already heating up. While there are always worthy candidates across the league, a handful of stars have separated themselves from the field through elite production, consistency, and impact on winning.
These five players have done more than make a strong case, they've made themselves near-certainties to hear their names called for All-Star Weekend.
A'ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces
At this point, A'ja Wilson being named an All-Star feels as automatic as the sunrise.
The reigning WNBA M'VP and face of the Las Vegas Aces continues to dominate on both ends of the floor, producing MVP-caliber performances nearly every night. Wilson’s stats automatically qualify her as a lock, but with the way All-Star voting is, you can never be too sure. However, when you compare Wilson to the rest of the league, it’s obvious who has been playing the best.
Breanna Stewart, New York Liberty
Breanna Stewart continues to prove why she is one of the most respected veterans in the league.
The New York Liberty forward remains the centerpiece of New York's championship aspirations, providing elite scoring, rebounding, and defensive versatility every time she steps on the court. Even during stretches when New York has dealt with injuries, Stewart's presence has helped stabilize the team on both ends of the floor. Her leadership has been especially important as the Liberty have begun finding their rhythm defensively.
Stewart's ability to contribute across the stat sheet while anchoring a title contender makes her a lock for another WNBA All-Star appearance.
Currently Stewart is averaging 20.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. She has been the focal point of this New York team, with Sabrina Ionescu out. There comes a time where elite athletes where some may say they are past their time as they age, but not Stewart. She continues to put the Liberty on her back alongside her teammates.
Brittney Sykes, Toronto Tempo
Perhaps no player has boosted her stock more this season than Brittney Sykes.
After joining the expansion Toronto Tempo, Sykes has emerged as the team's offensive engine. Alongside fellow guard Marina Mabrey, Sykes has been one of the core pieces to the Tempo’s key in winning games. She is averaging 21.6 point, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, while being the biggest offensive playmaker for Toronto.
Expansion teams rarely find immediate success in the WNBA, but Sykes has helped keep Toronto competitive and firmly in the playoff conversation. While it’s hard to find a team with two stellar guards, the Tempo were able to luck out of it with Mabrey and Sykes. However, Sykes has managed to remain consistent across the board and play at a high level that Toronto needs. Her combination of scoring, leadership, and two-way impact has transformed her from a respected veteran into a legitimate All-Star candidate.

Kelsey Mitchell, Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever have become one of the league's most dangerous offensive teams, and Kelsey Mitchell remains a major reason why.
Mitchell continues to showcase one of the smoothest scoring packages in the WNBA. Whether she's knocking down pull-up jumpers, attacking off the dribble, or catching fire from beyond the arc, she remains a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses.
What makes Mitchell's season especially impressive is her consistency. Currently, Mitchell is averaging 20.4 points, 2.5 assists, and is shooting 45.8 percent from the field. The Fever tend to prioritize Caitlin Clark, but Mitchell has spent her entire career with Indiana and continues to improve every season.
While defenses often focus their attention on Indiana's other stars, Mitchell continues to punish opponents and provide the scoring punch necessary to keep the Fever among the league's contenders.

Paige Bueckers, Dallas Wings
Paige Bueckers entered the league with enormous expectations, and somehow she has exceeded them.
After winning Rookie of the Year in 2025, Bueckers has elevated her game even further during her second season. She has become one of the league's most efficient guards while continuing to expand her role as a primary facilitator.

Through the opening weeks of the season, Bueckers has been producing on average 19.8 points, 5.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, while shooting an efficient 52.3 percent from the field. Bueckers is the franchise player for Dallas, and she has been a huge part of their recent success this season.
Beyond the numbers, Bueckers has become one of the faces of the next generation of WNBA stars. Her ability to control games, create opportunities for teammates, and deliver in big moments has made her one of the easiest All-Star selections on the board. There is no doubt that she is an All-Star lock this year, as her game on the court has showed she plays at a high level.
