Joakim Noah might have barely made the All-Star team but he’s been playing like an All-NBA player all this month.
Yesterday vs the Knicks, Noah had 13 points 12 rebounds and 14 assists. The triple double gave him his 5th of his career and the 14 assists were the most by a center since 1979 when Sam Lacey of the Kansas City Kings did it.
It’s also the first time a center has every recorded a triple double with more assists than points or rebounds.
The 14 assists also marks the 4th time this month that’s he’s been in double digits in the assists category. He also missed a triple double twice this month by 2 assists.
“What can you say? He is playing MVP basketball,” Gibson said. “He is doing everything in all facets of the game.”
Noah is also the first center since David Robinson in 1993 to lead his team in assists and is behind only Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan on the Bull’s All-Time Triple Double list.
I think all this earns Noah a chest bump from Tony Snell.
