Earlier in the week, the Nugget’s 19-year old rookie Jamal Murray generated some buzz when answering questions about his scoring ability.
“I know I can score. Everybody knows I can score,” Murray said to CBC. “I know I’m one of the best scorers in the league. I’m one of the best rookies here, but other than that, no pressure.”
On Friday night, against #2 pick Brandon Ingram and the Lakers, Murray came off the bench and helped lead the Nuggets to a comeback victory with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
I know it’s just pre-season hoops but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jamal do exactly what his former Coach said about him before the draft.
“I believe that Jamal Murray will be the leading scoring rookie in the NBA,” Calipari said. “There’s not a shot that he doesn’t think he can make.”

Speaking of college, as a proud FSU alumni, I’m happy to remind UF fans when Murray dropped 35 on them.
