Coinbase joined the prediction markets scene in 2025, so I’ve taken to the site to do an updated Coinbase review, focusing on the prediction markets. I’ll give you an overview of the available markets, how predictions work, and more.
By the end of this guide, you will have a solid idea of how Coinbase works and everything you need to hit the ground running. Not all prediction market sites are made equal, so I’ll shine a light on the core features so you can decide whether or not it appeals to you.

The great news is that if you are already familiar with prediction markets, then you already know everything to get started, as Coinbase uses a similar structure. For example, between my experience of my Fanatics review and this, there aren’t too many differences. Don’t worry, if you’re new to this, I’ll get you up to speed in no time.
I found 12 categories at Coinbase, so there is plenty to choose from. Coinbase started as a crypto exchange, so it’s no surprise to find crypto markets. In addition to this, there’s something to suit all types of traders, including sports, economics, and politics. Here’s a look at some of the categories and available markets.

All the markets at Coinbase are presented with a Yes or No outcome. For example, “Bitcoin price at the end of 2026”. There were 28 possible outcomes offered, each with its own Yes and No contracts. At the time of writing, the ‘70,000 to 74,999.99’ outcome had the following contracts:
As there were 28 outcomes for this market, it’s then down to you to browse the options and make your prediction by trading a contract. Let’s say you think that Bitcoin will end the year at 71,000; you would then buy the Yes contract, as listed above. You would pay 9¢ for the contract, which will settle at the end of the year. If your prediction is correct, it will settle at $1. Otherwise, it settles for $0, meaning you get nothing.
I didn’t find a specific prediction trading bonus, but that doesn’t mean that promotions are completely off-limits. As I mentioned in my OG review, prediction trading offers are a little scarce. While it’s always great to come across them, they certainly aren’t standard. Despite the lack of a prediction trading bonus, you can still get a Bitcoin reward after your first crypto purchase.
As Coinbase started as a crypto exchange, the main Coinbase bonus relates to your first crypto purchase. Provided that your first purchase is $50+, you will receive a random amount of BTC, up to $2,000. The lowest possible reward is $10, but the majority of users receive between $10 and $100, as that prize comes with a 99% chance.
Coinbase has thought of everything. You can either access your account on the website that is accessible on all devices or install the app on iOS or Android devices. The app offers a single account for the entire site, just like when you use the browser website. So, if you want to branch out into different products and features, you have unrestricted access for your region.
The website has easy navigation, offering links to all the available categories that sit along the top of the page. There’s also a Trending tab, where you can browse the popular markets right now, which is ideal for traders who are looking for some inspiration. To help you narrow down your search, you can use various filters. These filters allow you to find live markets, markets that are closing soon, and even browse closed markets.
The smart filters offer more depth by allowing you to search based on frequency, too. For instance, if you’re searching for a 15-minute prediction market, then this is where you’ll find it. Generally, the list contains options like the following, which aren’t fully exhaustive:
As I did for my Underdog review, I also checked out how well the information is displayed for each market. Typically, you are given an easy-to-read graph that presents the top 3 predictions and the full history of their fluctuations, with a stamp of the current ‘chance of winning’. Further down the page, you will find a step-by-step guide on how the trades work, so you know exactly what to expect and when. For example, the outcome is confirmed within 24 hours, and your settlement is released within 1 minute of this confirmation.
While Coinbase is a crypto exchange, you aren’t limited to exclusively using cryptocurrencies. While cryptocurrencies are available, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin, there are other options available, too. You can fund your Coinbase account using Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and mobile options like Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can also use bank transfers for deposits and withdrawals, depending on your preferences.
As all prediction contracts are bought and settled in USD, you will need to convert your money into USD to proceed. It’s also worth knowing how much your cryptocurrency is worth in USD, so you can manage your balance effectively, should you prefer to use cryptocurrencies.

Coinbase offers multiple support channels, including live chat, email, telephone hotline, and FAQs. The FAQs are accessible from the main menu, but you will also be given a tailored list of FAQs on each market page. So, if you have a basic query, this would be where I’d check first. If the FAQs don’t resolve your query, you can reach out to the team directly.
Live chat offers rapid answers and is open 24/7. Every time I tested the live chat, I received a response within 30 seconds or so, which cleared up my query on the first attempt. Alternatively, there’s an email support that offers fast responses if you prefer not to wait around online.

As you might have seen in my Prizepicks review, I always explore the depths of the security measures and licensing details to make sure that everything is above board. In short, I was blown away by everything I found out about Coinbase and how seriously the brand takes your security.

In fact, Coinbase was voted the most trusted crypto exchange in 2022, in a survey conducted in the US, UK, Germany, and India. While this doesn’t cover the prediction market side, it’s important to note that Coinbase's prediction market wasn’t added until 2025. Still, it gives an idea of how reputable the brand is.
Furthermore, Coinbase has a strict KYC (Know Your Customer) check that confirms you are based in an eligible area and meet the entry requirements, such as minimum age requirements. This is done by requesting a copy of your photo ID and proof of address after registration. Plus, Coinbase even gives you access to all the compliance requirements, so you can check for yourself that Coinbase is ticking off every box.
Coinbase has been around for many years, but as a crypto exchange, so I was excited to find out what its prediction markets are like. I was pleased to find such a broad selection of categories, ranging from sports to politics, entertainment, and social. A couple of categories that I haven’t seen before were listed, including mentions, which is a niche market that doesn’t tend to have its own dedicated page.
If Coinbase sounds like the prediction market site for you, why not test the waters by tapping the promotional banners on this page? They’ll take you to the Coinbase website.
No. Coinbase might have started as a crypto exchange, but you can deposit using fiat methods, including credit/debit cards and e-wallets.
Yes. You can install the iOS or Android app directly from your respective app store or use the mobile-friendly site to access your account.
You will start by picking a category and market, before predicting an outcome by trading a Yes or No contract. If your prediction is correct, your contract will settle at $1.
