What is Crypto.com?

Crypto.com is an app that enables users to buy, sell, and exchange crypto assets with ease. Launched in 2016, the brand is a brainchild of four individuals, including Kris Marszalek, Rafael Melo, Gary Or, and Bobby Bao. Although initially called Monaco Technology GmbH. However, it was changed to Crypto.com in 2018.

When starting out, Crypto.com’s vision was simple. It wanted to make cryptocurrencies easy to use and accessible to everyone. Well, it seems to have hit this target, as Crypto.com has over 100 million users around the world. Crypto.com is like a hydra with so many heads, offering a variety of services across its ecosystem. Let’s briefly explore some of its services below:

💱 Crypto Exchange

An area where you can buy and sell different cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum and Bitcoin. At the time of writing this guide, users can trade more than 400 coins in the exchange area.

📈 Derivatives

This feature enables users to trade on the future prices of a digital asset without actually owning it.

💳 Visa Card

Crypto.com has a special Visa card that lets you spend cryptocurrency just like regular cash. The more you spend, the more rewards you'll get.

📊 Regulated prediction market

This is the feature I'll be focusing on in this review. It allows users to trade yes/no contracts on events across categories like sports, politics, economics, and finance.

How do Crypto.com prediction markets work?

Prediction trading on Crypto.com is built around simple “yes” or “no” questions about the possibilities of events happening within a specific timeframe. Depending on the market you wish to trade on, the prices are not fixed, as they keep moving based on traders’ public perception or entries.

On economic predictions, for instance, if most traders believe a particular economic indicator will rise, the price of the “yes” contract will increase, while the “no” contract becomes cheaper. Once the event concludes, each contract settles at a predetermined value, so if your prediction comes correct, you’ll get the full payout.

However, on Crypto.com, you can choose to opt out of a trade midway to lock in profit or minimize losses. This is something that you won’t find on so many of its competitors. However, there may be fees for exiting a contract before conclusion.

What events can you predict at Crypto.com?

At Crypto.com, traders can make predictions on a variety of events across the following markets:

  • Politics: You can forecast things like who will win the next state election or general elections, alongside what decisions the government will make within a specific timeframe.
  • Economics: This section allows you to make predictions on economic factors like GDP, interest rate, and inflation. For instance, you can purchase a “yes” share if you believe inflation will rise above a particular percentage within a period of time.
  • Sports: Crypto.com's sports trading section allows you to purchase yes/no contracts on events related to your favorite sports. However, your predictions can only be made on three markets: winners, spreads, and totals.
  • Finance: In this section, you'll be able to make predictions on events like Federal Reserve decisions, the price of gold, and the value of popular stocks at the end of a month or calendar year.

While crafting our Polymarket review, we realized that its users can predict on culture-related events like music, lifestyle, fashion, etc. However, at the time of writing this Crypto.com review, the app has yet to launch its culture prediction section.

The Crypto.com usability and feel

When I first visited the Crypto.com site, I was impressed by how simple and elegant it looked at the same time. On the homepage, you'll find detailed information about the platform's major features. These include the welcome bonus - see here for details - as well as cryptocurrency prices, and rewards. While reviewing the Crypto.com site, I also found out that the brand features prediction trading markets across politics, sports, financials, and economics.

However, it's essential to note that you can't purchase “yes” or “no” contracts in your preferred category directly on the website. You’ll need to download the Crypto.com application, available for both Android and iOS devices. This is also what I noticed while crafting our Robinhood prediction market review. Nonetheless, the Crypto.com website does a good job of preparing you for prediction trading.

When I browsed through the site further, I found quick links to pages where I could learn how the prediction markets work. So, while the Crypto.com website doesn't permit prediction trading, its layout is simple to use. And for all the times that I visited the site, I haven’t noticed any lag or issues.

Crypto.com mobile app layout

Just as I said earlier, you won’t be able to participate in any prediction trading on Crypto.com, except through its app. Thankfully, it’s available for both iOS and Android devices and can be installed in a couple of seconds.

So far, my experience on the app has been great, as all its buttons are properly designed and placed in the right spots. On the app’s homepage, you’ll find the “Create New Account” and “Log in to Existing Account” buttons boldly placed below the page. Creating an account on the mobile app is also a breeze, and the entire process can be completed within 5 minutes.

Even after creating an account, I appreciate how well the app was designed. You’ll find quick links to all of its features, including exchange, prediction markets, NFT Marketplace, etc. Finally, the app is lightweight, so you don’t have to worry about it taking up too much space on your phone.

Crypto.com’s customer support channels

No matter how good a product like Crypto.com is, you may run into issues at some points. The good news is that Crypto.com takes support seriously by offering several channels through which you can reach out to the team, with English as one of the supported languages. My experience with its live chat support has been great so far.

Although responses can take up to 10 minutes to come, the agents have been very professional and friendly. There's also an email support that you can use to reach out for more serious issues. After sending a query via the email channel, I received a response within 7 hours. To be honest, that’s quite slow, but given the fact that the brand offers services to millions of users, this can be excused.

Besides the live chat and email routes, Crypto.com has one of the most extensive FAQs I've ever come across. This section has detailed Questions and Answers on everything from rewards and payments to verification and Crypto.com’s cards. Using the search function, you can find information on specific topics. For example, when I entered “Prediction Trading,” I learned a lot about entering the “yes” and “no” contracts and how to manage my account.

At the time of writing, Crypto.com doesn't have phone support, meaning you can't reach out to customer reps via phone calls. However, with the customer care routes I've highlighted, you can get answers to your urgent concerns on time.

It's not surprising that you can process deposits and withdrawals on your Crypto.com account via crypto. After all, the app supports over 400 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, USDT, and much more. However, if you don’t want to fund your account with crypto, the app also supports fiat deposits via USD and Euro bank transfers, Visa Card, and PayPal.

Once your deposit is successfully processed, funds will appear in your account almost immediately. Fortunately, crypto deposits usually process almost immediately without fees. However, even though withdrawals take up to 24 hours to process, depending on your preferred crypto option, you may incur some fees. You can also process withdrawals from your Crypto.com account via your USD and Euro bank accounts.

Starting your prediction trading adventure at Crypto.com – A guide

Now that you’re fully aware of all of Crypto.com’s offerings in several prediction markets, including politics, sports, economics, and finance, you may want to get a first-hand experience. That’s why I highlighted some steps for you to follow below:

  1. Install the Crypto.com app: You can easily install the Crypto.com app by simply clicking the brand’s link on the banners of this page. From there, you can choose to install whether for your Android or iOS device. As soon as it’s installed, you can launch it to begin the registration process.

  2. Register your account: Once you've launched the application, hit the SIGN UP button below the page. Choose whether to register a personal or business account. For a personal account, enter your email address, phone number, and verify them. Next, fill in all the required personal details, including your full name, home address, date of birth, etc.

  3. Account verification: Once you've provided all the required details, you’ll need to verify your identity to complete the registration process. To verify, submit a government-issued ID card, including a driver’s license, state ID card, or international passport. After uploading any of these documents, the app will prompt you to take a selfie. Complete this process by putting your face in the center of the frame. Once all these are done, the verification is supposed to be done automatically, but it can still take up to 24 hours during weekends.

  4. Deposit funds into your account: If your account has been fully verified, you can then add funds to it to begin your prediction journey. Fortunately, you can choose to fund your account with crypto or fiat via Euro or Dollar bank transfers. As I mentioned in the payment sections, the app also supports PayPal, so there are more than enough options that you can use to process deposits into your account.

  5. Start predicting: Once the funds have appeared in your account balance, head to the Predict area of the app. Here, you'll be able to purchase “yes” or “no” to contract on events tied to the economy, sports, finances, and politics. Next, you’ll need to choose the events you wish to predict. As soon as your selection is made, purchase either the “yes” or “no” contract according to the current price. Confirm and complete the purchase. Wait for the event to conclude to see if your prediction comes true or fails. However, it might interest you to note that Crypto.com allows you to exit contracts even when the event is not yet concluded to lock in profit or minimise losses.

Is Crypto.com legit and secure to use?

As one of the most reputable prediction markets, Crypto.com appears to be very legit and secure for users to jump on. Back in September 2025, the app announced that it had the full approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

For context, the CFTC is a U.S. governmental organization that oversees all derivatives markets, including options, swaps, and futures, to protect the general public from manipulation and fraud.

This certification means Crypto.com regulations are in line with the CFTC standards. Thus, they can offer prediction trading on events across politics, economics, sports, and finance without going against federal laws. Aside from licensing and regulations, Crypto.com also takes internal security seriously.

First of all, it employs the use of SSL encryption, which ensures that the personal and financial details of traders are heavily protected from hackers and other intruders. Beyond that, the app also offers a variety of other 2FA options that you can use to protect your account from unauthorized access.

Although Crypto.com is widely available throughout the US, it’s important to note that New York and Arizona residents are not allowed to trade on any markets.

Meanwhile, if you’re a resident of Nevada, Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey or Illinois, you won’t be allowed to trade on Sports contracts, although you’ll be allowed to trade other categories like elections and economic indicators.

Prediction Trading is facilitated through Crypto.com | Derivatives North America (CDNA). Foris DAX Inc. and Foris Inc. (d/b/a Crypto.com ) provide access to CDNA, a platform regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), allowing users to trade derivatives in accordance with CDNA’s rules and regulations.

Final thoughts on Crypto.com as a top prediction market

With just four options available at the moment, it is true that Crypto.com doesn’t offer a wide range of prediction markets when compared to some of its peers. However, what you can’t take away from the app is its overall positive user experience.

Firstly, the app works exceptionally well on both iOS and Android devices, allowing you to engage in the yes/no contracts buy/sell without any issues. Another unique feature of Crypto.com is the fact that it allows traders to exit contracts even when the events haven’t ended. This obviously helps users to lock in profit or minimize losses.

While I expect the app to introduce more prediction markets, the available ones are more than enough. You may want to check out things yourself. Therefore, you can quickly create an account by tapping the Crypto.com registration link on the banners of this page.

While the app is available for users from different countries, only US residents are allowed to access the event prediction section of Crypto.com.

However, the prices for these contracts are not static, as they move according to the market’s perception.

Yes, Crypto.com is 100% legal in the United States. The app is regulated by the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, meaning that it can offer prediction markets in a fair and secure manner to US traders.
