We recently downloaded the Kalshi app to see what it was like. You can get their official iOS or Android app, depending on which platform you use. Once you’ve created an account, you can look through their prediction markets.

You can access their full range of prediction markets in sports, economics, world events, crypto, politics, and various aspects of the climate, too. You can also search for markets via the app and trade event contracts whenever you’re ready. With recent updates and positive user reviews, the Kalshi Android and iOS apps have become very popular.

Pros and cons of the Kalshi app

We’ve spent some time testing the Kalshi website, so we had something to compare the app to when we downloaded that. We’ve noted many advantages of having the app - not least the convenience of being able to check the current state of a prediction market, especially when the situation is liable to change, such as during the runup to an election, for example. We’ve added one downside to the app here, but even that is something we quickly became used to and wasn’t a problem.

Does Kalshi have an iOS or Android app?

Good news - you can download whichever app you need for your iPhone or Android phone or tablet. If you’re interested in browsing Kalshi event contracts payouts, you can do so via the relevant app or on their website. We’ve collated the basics about the apps here, so you can check out the relevant facts for your chosen platform. We noted that the app received good ratings in both stores - one of the most important aspects to be aware of ahead of downloading it for your own device.

Is the Kalshi app better than their website?

It’s a matter of personal taste. If you’re keeping track of a specific prediction market, you’ll likely find it easier to do so when you’ve got their app in your pocket. We’ve followed prediction markets such as Kalshi sports trading, and we’ve found it useful to keep an eye on the yes and no probabilities ahead of buying an event contract. You can also exit a prediction market before it resolves, if you believe this is better than hanging on until you get a definitive yes or no answer. We’ve found it faster and more convenient to do this via the Kalshi app than if we were to wait until we could reach a computer.

Do you need to download their app?

No - you can simply visit their website on any mobile browser if you wish. We did so to test it and it does quickly adjust to display the page information in the best possible way. You might see arrows pointing to the left and right to scroll through options if there are too many to fit on the screen at once. You’ll also find some menu options at the bottom of the screen. So, while the website does fare okay on a mobile screen, there are a couple of kinks that need working out before it performs at its best.

On balance, we think the Kalshi trading app is best if you’re on a mobile device and you’re looking for Kalshi election forecasts or similar events. If you end up using the app and the website, you can use one login to access your account on both.

Is the Kalshi app legit and safe to use?

Yes - developers must fulfill all the terms and conditions laid down by the App Store and the Google Play Store respectively to have their app listed in either of those. Furthermore, we know that Kalshi is regulated at Federal level in the US by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). We noted that the website is copyrighted by Kalshi LLC, while the apps are provided and regularly updated by KalshiEX LLC. All told, this provides plenty of evidence that you have a safe app you can download with confidence.

Examining key Kalshi app features 

As you’d expect, the apps for Android and iOS devices provide you with a range of features you can find out more about. If this is your introduction to the Kalshi prediction market service, you shouldn’t find it any more challenging via the app than the website. Having tested the app on an Android phone and tablet, along with trying the iPhone version, we found that we could easily access our Kalshi account via the app. We preferred the experience we had with the app, too. Being able to view the current trending prediction markets was a plus point, along with having multiple categories to explore, so we could always find our favorites there.
