Pat Riley strikes again!  If getting sharpshooter Ray Allen wasn't enough added firepower to the Championship Heat he added Ray's ex teammate from Seattle Rashard "still has a jump shot for a big man" Lewis at the bargain veteran price of less than 3 million for 2 years.  The 1st year is a guaranteed 1.35mil and the 2nd is an option for 1.4mil.

This isn't a knock on Rashard Lewis' game at all but this is the first we have ever been able to say "Rashard Lewis" and "underpaid" in the same sentence since probably his rookie season.  We are talking about a player that signed one of the most controversial basketball contracts of the past decade with the Orlando Magic (6 years $118 million) and just received almost $14 million in a buyout from the Hornets.

It's been a long journey for Lewis who went from being the last player sitting in the green room on draft night to becoming the Sonics all time leader in 3 pointers to an up and down career in Orlando and a few bounces on a few teams nobody cares to talk about.  Now he's in South Beach with the Big whatever number they are up to now.
