Ray Allen has officially retired from the NBA. Even though he hasn’t been on a roster since winning a title with Miami back in 2013, he’s always teased the idea of making a comeback. And teams were certainly interested in the marksmen’s shooting touch.
Upon his retire, Ray Ray aka Jesus Shuttlesworth aka Ray, penned a heartfelt and motivating letter to his younger self. Within that letter Ray dropped insight on what to expect and how to push through the hardships of his young career.
Throughout a humbling career, Ray Allen knew how to keep a low profile off the court as well. Keeping to himself and always having the bigger picture in his mind got him to where he is now. Ray understands that life isn’t about the destination… it’s about the journey.

“I really mean it from the bottom of my heart: Life is about the journey, not the destination. And that journey will change you as a person.” – Ray Allen
