(1995) Reggie Miller scores 8 points in 8.9 seconds to beat the Knicks

Reggie Miller was known as “The Knicks Killer” before May 7th of 1995. After that memorable day in NBA history, Miller became the most hated man in New York and that’s saying a lot.

Down by 6 with 18.7 seconds left in Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, Reggie Miller scored 8 points in 9 seconds to give the Pacers a 107-105 victory.

“We were shell-shocked,” says former Knick Anthony Mason years later. “We went numb after his second three. We became totally disoriented. It was like a terrible nightmare that you couldn’t wake up from. I still think about it today. I can laugh about it now. I wasn’t laughing then, that’s for sure.”

Everyone remembers Reggie Miller’s threes but most don’t know or forget about John Starks getting fouled, missing two free throws then Ewing getting the offensive rebound and missing a shot in the final 13 seconds.

Reggie Miller then knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Pacers the 107-105 victory.
