While we all get old waiting to see Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball play against Kings rookie De’Aaron Fox, Lakers rookie standout Kyle Kuzma impressed again during a duel with Utah Jazz rookie and draft steal Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell knocked down 10-of-20 shots for 26 points off the bench, including a couple clutch ones in the final minute and a half of the Jazz win.
“I think he just competes,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said about Mitchell. “That’s the biggest thing. Anytime you have a guy who competes and has a desire to be better, that’s going to happen.
Kuzma had the Staples Center crowd yelling, “Koooz” a few times on his way to 18 points (5-14 fg) off the bench, which included the highlight of the night: a spin move on Sefolosha in the second quarter.
