Up by 4 with 30 seconds left, the last thing you would expect from a defensive wiz like Tony Allen is for him to foul a shooter…attempting a 3-pointer. According to the refs, that’s what Allen did when he fouled Russell Westbrook on a 3-pointer with 26.6 seconds left in regulation. Allen and many others will argue that it was a bad call and Westbrook flopped.
I’m just glad Westbrook didn’t injure himself on the play.
The Grizzlies and Allen, who had 16 points, 9 rebounds and some big steals, did come out victorious in OT.
