“I take risks, but I don’t think of it that way.”
I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of Flaunt magazine so I wasn’t that excited to hear that Westbrook was gracing the cover but when I saw that he was on the Complex cover (one of the two – if you read Complex you will know what I mean) I was.

Russell Westbrook is changing the game. Not only has the three-time NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist scored more points than any other point guard in the league this year, he’s also elevated the league’s fashion sense to new heights. As the Oklahoma City Thunder battle the San Antonio Spurs in search of their second straight Western Conference title this spring, all eyes will be on Westbrook. The same man who brings the ball up court during the game also brings a new sophistication to getting dressed after the game. When Westbrook signed with Jordan Brand last October, MJ praised his style both on and off the court. We couldn’t agree more.
Westbrook is one of the few professional basketball players to appear on the cover of Complex, joining living legends Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson. He’s also the first NBA star to be spotted kicking it with André Leon Talley during New York fashion week. We called on ace lensman Kareem Black to photograph the Lawndale, CA native in his adopted hometown of Oklahoma City. Then staff writer Jian DeLeon traveled to Los Angeles and OKC to put together an in-depth profile of the NBA’s style MVP. The magazine goes on sale April 2, but you can check out the cover story and photo shoot right now…
While I’m on the topic of Complex’s covers. Here’s my favorite of all-time featuring Serge Ibaka’s girl Keri Hilson.
and LOL at this Kobe one.
