Michael Beasley's conversation about the human brain with the beautiful Taylor Rooks was mind blowing. But not as mind blowing as his 32-point performance against the Celtics and the world's reaction to it.
"Your favorite player's favorite player" scored 28 of his season-high 32 points in the second half and was showered with "MVP" chants after hitting a dagger with a minute left in the Celtics' second straight loss.
After the game, the former No. 2 pick dropped a few more gems while talking to the media. When asked when he started feeling the hot hand, Beasley replied, "January 9, 1989."
That date is the day the basketball Gods blessed the world with his presence.
When asked about the MVP chants, he replied, "I'm just out here doing what I got to do. It's nice to hear but I am pretty sure it's for KP."
What makes that comment funny is the New York Unicorn put up a donut (0-11 FG) from the field in 23 minutes of action.
Speaking of minutes, Beasley was the first player in the past 40 years to record at least 32 points and 12 boards in 25 or less minutes.
