The OG Air Jordan IX in the beloved black/white/red colorway is now being dubbed the “Space Jam.” Yes yes, we understand that the Air Jordan XI will be the only ‘Space Jam’ you’ll ever refer to when Space Jam is referenced in the sneaker industry.

“But the Space Jam has to have the black and blue combination with the ice…” Oh shut up and hear what Jordan brand had to claim as to why their referring the AJIX as a “Space Jam” as well. Solid facts, no doubt.

If you’re a familiar with the movie as you should be, the scene where Bugs and Daffy had to break in to MJ’s pad to grab some gear for him so that he can hoop. During that scene two Air Jordans can be recognized. Yep, that’s right the Air Jordan IX in the very same colorway, black/white. The other sneaker would be the Air Jordan X “Shadow.” So maybe next time those drop, Jordan brand will change its name to Space Jame as well.

It makes sense as to why Jordan Brand wants everybody to refer this pair of IX’s to Space Jams. My thought is why now? Why didn’t they push for these to be dubbed Space Jams sooner? All good, the “Space Jam” IX’s will be dropping December 3rd. Check out the official images below. Peace.
