From CourtCred: We still don’t have a NBA season, but “Basketball Never Stops”. Atlanta Hawks’ Damien Wilkins is one of many players who have organized exhibition games to treat fans during the lockout. His Monster Slam Exhibition not only satisfied fans with some very exciting basketball but also helped raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club.
Wilkins received support from his Hawks teammates Joe Johnson and Jeff Teague along with Derrick Favors(Jazz), Jarrett Jack(Hornets), Lou Williams(76ers), Jeff Green(Celtics), Jordan Crawford(Wizards), Shannon Brown(Lakers), and Trey Thompkins(Clippers).
From the opening tip, you could tell that Wilkins and his team was there to win. They started out on a 8-0 run capped off with a fastbreak dunk by Wilkins. Quickly, Team Black starring Jarrett Jack, Lou Williams, and Jeff Green woke up and started to put some points on the board to close the gap. Before the first half of play, fans were fulfilled with some great entertainment that included Sportscenter caliber highlights from Shannon Brown and a square off between Jordan Crawford and Joe Johnson.
