We told you a couple of years ago, “Carsen Edwards will light you up!”
On Sunday, the college sophomore lit up Israel for 36 points, including 30 in the second half and OT in a 111-107 comeback victory for Purdue, representing team USA at the World University Games.
“I just felt I needed to be more aggressive after the first half,” Said Edwards, who had four boards, two assists, two steals, a clutch block and eight threes. “I chose my spots and fortunately the guys got the ball in places that I could score. It was a great team effort today.”
In their next game, Edwards and teammate Vincent Edwards, scored 25 of the team’s first 29 points during a 93-61 semi-finals win against Serbia. Carsen finished with 16 points, six assists and four steals. Vincent Edwards scored a game-high 31.
They will take on Lithuania for the gold on Tuesday.
