With the Cavs up by one, over the Hawks, with a little more than a minute left in regulation, Kyle Korver knocked down his third three against his former team. The three not only was a dagger in the Cavs 135-130 victory, it gave the Cavs the NBA regular-season record for most threes in a game (25). The previous record of 24 was held by the Rockets and Nuggets.
“It was great to be a part of a record-setting night, and it’s even better that Kyle was the one to hit the record back in the building that he played so many seasons in,” Said LeBron James, who made a game-high eight threes.
With the exception of Iman Shumpert (2-6), every member of the Cavs who attempted a three made at least three 3-pointers; The Hawks only had one player to pull this off but still managed to score 130 points, including 42 in the final quarter.
