Jaylen Drane is an 8th grader at Ariel Community Academy, a public school on Chicago's South Side.
In local Chicago basketball circles, the tough PG is considered to be the top grammar school guard in Chicago Public Schools. A 6ft guard, Drane attacks the basket relentlessly and his teams win A LOT! He led his Ariel 7th-8th team to 5-0 run, winning Best of the Midwest Classic at Collins HS.
He led his loaded team in scoring. Ariel last won a Chicago basketball city championship 4 years ago led by Chase Adams and Kezo Brown among others.
When asked who he models his game after, Jaylen Drane replied Kezo Brown (Chicago Simeon Career Academy senior guard and Ariel alum).
The season is young but alongside star 7th grader Jalen Griffith, there are high expectations for Jaylen Drane and Ariel's team this season.
