39 years ago today, a Jelly Bean named his seed after a piece of Japanese beef. 39 years later, many of us have nicknamed that beef after a deadly snake (Black Mamba) or a cheap wine (Vino). Many of us have also labeled that beef our favorite or the best ever. And if you are Steve Nash, you just refer to the legend that is Kobe Bryant as a “motherf***g a**hole.”

In honor of that a$$holes’ birthday today, here’s a timeline of memorable and great moments from arguably the greatest Laker of all-time.
